gifting against my will

so, theres nothing more rewarding than giving to others, right?

i created this piece for my boss for a much deserved Christmas gift. this particular turquoise stone spoke to me and said "cindy", so i simply had to part with it.

ah well, its spirit will live on.

*sigh*

is it hard to give your stuff away? i gave away two paintings before...i guess i have no problems with the giving part...it's just the little egotistical/insecure part of me that wonders...is it still hanging? in a closet somewhere?...i am going to have to check out your etsy shop!...

it is a very refreshing satisfying thing to give my things away to people i care about...but there is always this selfish nagging little disgusting part of me that just HATES to part with my babies! part of what gives me so much joy when i create my pieces, is that i use stones that are love at first sight, and they are like snowflakes to me, no two are ever the same. so its like this little piece of me dies slowly....gosh i'm over-dramatic today! i do have the same feelings as you though...is it buried in the bottom of the jewelry box underneath the pink plastic bangles that they wore in 6th grade? i would love to see your paintings...i'm off to check out your blog a little deeper to see if you have any pictures of them ;o>

yeah, i could see that...part of your craft is found art, your stones...when you find something you sometimes can think it is just for you...one draw to goodwill shopping...not sure if you found any of my art, there isn't much posted at this time. Check out October 8th. That is the one I like the best...and I was listening to Mr Love by the Toadies when I did it...thanks...have an awesome day....
