my good friend lesley of www.beadgenie.etsy.com celebrated her birthday over thanksgiving weekend, and i am so proud of the present i created for her i have to show it off ;o)
her favorite stone is labdorite, and i had found this one well over 8 months ago at the local rock hound store. i'd been saving it for her birthday, and i'm so glad i did. her daughter lily calls it "the eye".

love your work! thanks for stopping by uglycousin!
thank you! you also have a wonderful gift, one that i have never been able to understand but greatly admire and am quite jealous of...writing of course ;o)
awww...thanks...yeah, if ever tried to make a necklace out of metal, it would look like a crushed beer can and would probably prick my jugular open...
smashed beer can, that could actually be quite interesting...minus all the blood of course ;o> (a maniacal Dexter-ish grin)
my baby!!! I wear it at least once a week, if not more... it already needs a bath. It is on my top 10 list of most thoughtful gifts ever received.
i'm so happy that you like it so much! i was trying to be thoughtful...but didn't know how well i would succeed ;o)
i am quite proud of how well the bezel turned out...i'm finding that oval bezels are by far the easiest to push, circles next, odd shapes next, and square and rectangle last. really, its corners that are such a pain in my butt!
