Recently I read an incredible book, called Swan Song. It is a post-apocalyptic thriller, and throughout the book was a fight for good vs. evil to claim the earth. Those that had good in their hearts, were horrendously deformed by the radiation for many years. Near the end of the book (spoiler alert!), the ugly masks broke apart to reveal their true beauty underneath. I don't want to give anything more away, but just wanted to share how deeply I was moved by the concept of the book, and the way it reminded me that true beauty, does indeed lie on the inside.
I created this ring as a daily reminder, to help keep me humble, and to throw vanity out the window.
This sterling silver band has beautiful and intricate scroll work on the inside, and a rough battered exterior. Most would wear the beautiful design on the outside, but in this case, it will be a reminder to those that desire it, to let your inner beauty shine.

i love the idea of this ring! the book sounds like something i would be interested in and will have to pick it up.
i also agree ugly comes from within. even the most beautiful, by standard on the outside, can eventually turns ugly with their acts and words.
Kathleen, if you love sort of post-apocalyptic thrillers, you will love Swan Song! It's really reminiscent of Stephen Kings The Stand in many ways, which I've also read recently. Probably my favorite book so far in this genre is The Passage, by Justin Cronin. It's the first in a trilogy, I think book 2 comes out sometime next year. It's a beautifully written book, it pulls you in and is absolutely mesmerizing.
